Epicure Homewares

Local resident Cathy Selman owns and operates Epicure-Homewares situated in the Whitsundays.

Her passion for cooking and bringing quality kitchen items to households began some years ago when she had her first child. She ventured into demonstrating cookware, bringing in home cooking demonstrations into vogue long before celebrities brought food into our homes through television shows. She has a reputoire of amazing quick and easy recipes that she shares with her customers – and always focuses on helping the household Chef create tasty and healthy meals without breaking the budget!

Cathy a mother of three – juggles being a full time business woman, a wife, mother, and a devoted community supporter – vouches that some of her best customers are Men – who secretly enjoy putting on apron and dishing up a fabulous meal. I am sure they have a glass of wine or a cold beer whilst they are preparing – she giggles.

Bridal showers are a big part of Cathy’s business – words like dainty and feminine can be mixed with stainless cookware and cutlery – and many a secret has been kept as guests tend to shop for wedding presents on the day of the bridal shower. Girls just want to have some fun – and I make sure that we have plenty of frivolity and good old fashioned sharing of ideas, receipes, hopes, and dreams whilst we are cooking up a storm and celebrating another wedding! Who doesn’t love a wedding??

Cookware – as important in one’s kitchen as are the tools in the garage/shed! Cathy emphasizes that cooking a perfect steak starts with using the right pan. Her knowledge of all the latest cookware and kitchen gadgets is amazing!
